Today’s NY Must Buy – Artichoke Pizza Groupon Deal

If you buy one deal today, it should be the Groupon Artichoke Pizza Deal in Chelsea.

Check out the review from our deal lover Olek who bought the LS version last time it ran

“It was a Sunday afternoon and I had to be downtown for another purpose and hadn’t seen an old friend in a while so I figured it would be a good time to use my Living Social Artichoke Basille’s Pizza deal since it’s located right by my friends apartment.  The deal calls for “Any 18-Inch Pizza and Two Pints of Draft Beer” which sounded like a perfect Sunday evening plan while we caught up on our news.  I had never been to Artichoke and it came highly recommended by my girlfriend (who has great taste) so I thought it was a good buy when I decided to plunk down $23 for this deal a couple months ago.  When we got there it wasn’t too busy and we were seated promptly.  The waitress notice a folded up piece of paper on our table and she kindly asked if we were doing the Living Social deal, which was nice cause we all hate that initial awkwardness when presenting these vouchers.  Onto the menu where I was a little surprised at the price tag for the pizza as they were all in the $30 range, which even for Manhattan, is a bit high.  The beer selection was decent and we both chose the Artichoke beer that supposedly had some artichoke taste to it but turned out to just be a good lager, neither of us tasted the artichoke.  They went for $8 each so we felt good about our choice as that was the highest priced beer they had and therefore we got the most our of the living social deal.  We ended up choosing the Sardine pizza, which was actually very good despite have a weak amount of sardines on it.  The sauce and cheese in particular stood out as very tasty and the salty sardines complemented it perfectlty.  We ended up having a second round of beer and were very satisfied with the meal which we initially thought might leave us hungry.  The bill was about $18 and we left $30 to compensate for a 20% tip on the $60 value.  Not a bad experience for $53 bucks for two people to eat and have a couple of beers but not the best arbitrage.  All in all though the waitress was nice and the food was good so no complaints here.  Next time we are going to try the Living Social Hudson Eatery deal…stay tuned!”
